The Nature Learning Lab at Frankford Friends Elementary School creates a space for nature play in the middle of an urban landscape. Green stormwater management systems integrated with the play areas offer children the chance to explore pollinator gardens and other native habitats while balancing on stepping stones across swales and raingardens. Boulders and stone terraces form gathering spaces, and the remains of a giant sycamore tree create structures for running, jumping, and playing.
